Dreams have long been a mysterious and intriguing aspect of human existence. Researchers observe that dogs, cats, birds, chimps, rabbits, and many others experience rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which humans associate with dreaming.
Dreams transcend culture with communication that reflects, through a universal symbolic language in relation to our internal life, our deepest feelings and emotions, that often need processing. They are a barometer of how we are being in relation to our internal life, reflecting outwardly.
Dream interpretation is a practice that dates back centuries, with varying interpretations and methods across different traditions. In today’s fast-paced world, paying attention to our dreams can provide a valuable self-help tool for understanding ourselves better and navigating life challenges. By exploring the symbolism and themes in our dreams, we can uncover hidden truths, gain clarity on unresolved issues, and even receive guidance on important decisions.
Whether we dream of pets (familiar habits), or being naked (vulnerable) or missing teeth (unable to use knowledge) dreams hold unique messages waiting to be deciphered so we may identify patterns of thought. And remember, all people in our dreams represent aspects of ourselves.
Every dream is about the dreamer to reflect aspects within thoughts, attitudes and emotions in connection to vibrational patterns.
Lucid Dream Example:
A male figure walks in a childhood home at night. The figure has a pink balloon as a head. It has a menacing feeling. The dreamer is observing. The hallway is lit up and the pink balloon pops. Then, the male figure without a head shows the dreamer where he is eating. It looks like the kitchen, but it is in the front office space of the house. There is a lit candle. The observer says, “Blow out the candle”.
House-the mind-state
Child-hood home-reclaiming positive feelings, confidence
Male figure-aggressive impulses
Shadow figures-parts of self that feel marginalized
Kitchen-where knowledge (food) is prepared, learning
Office-take responsibility, create more space, explore
Pink balloon-represents compassion, love, and care. If it pops, you are setting yourself free.
Blowing out lit candle– blowing out negative energy
By embracing dream interpretation as an innate self-help system, we can tap into the wisdom of our subconscious minds, creating vignettes for us to awaken and embark on a love-based journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
